CONSIGNMENT - P O L I C I E S - P R O C E D U R E S - CONTRACT

 1.  NEW CONSIGNORS

  1. You must have read the  “STORE POLICIES-PROCEDURES-CONTRACT” document before bringing Consignments.
    1. Stop at the store for a copy or read it on the website.
  2. You will be registered at the store the first time you bring Consignments, receive your Account ID Card & sign our contract.
  3. We have found our store has the most success with Consignors who have the attitude, "I don't care, just get it out of my house & if I make something on it, great! If New Hope of Albemarle makes something that's great also!

2.  EXISTING CONSIGNORS

  1. Your record with us must reflect you are a “PRODUCTIVE” consignor.
    1. This means if you consign 15 items, the majority of them must have sold within 30 days.

3.  STORE HOURS

  1. Tuesday – Friday  10-5;  Saturday 10-3 – CLOSED SUNDAY & MONDAY.

4.  CONSIGNMENT PERIOD is 60 days – We “like” for your item(s) to sell within 30 days.  We “love & prefer” PRODUCTIVE Consignors (their items sell within 30 days).

  1. Pickup of unsold items is only allowed during the “58th through the 60th day”. We provide this three day window for you to pull & pick-up unsold Consignment items you would like to have back. On the 61st day, unsold Consignments become store property and are a donation to New Hope of Albemarle.

5.  CONSIGNOR EARNINGS

  1. Consignor will receive 70% for items sold for greater than $100.
  2. Consignor will receive 60% for items sold for less than $99.99.
  3. Items sold ONLINE, usually via eBay or Amazon. Consignor will receive 50% of the sold price less ½ of any fees

6.  CONSIGNMENT STORE PRICING & ACCEPTANCE – I T E M S   W I L L   B E   P R I C E D   T O   S E L L!

  1. The pricing & acceptance of your item(s) is determined by condition, current trends, our on hand inventory status & what we know our customers are looking for and will buy.
  2. Items will be tagged to sell at one price. No automatic mark downs. Our sales requirements, existing inventory & incoming new Consignments require items move quickly.
  3. We may change prices at any time.

7. CONSIGNMENT STORE PAYOUT POLICY

  1. Providing us with an e-mail address allows you to use the Consignor Login feature located on our website. When you log in for the first time please use your e-mail address as your password.  You will be prompted to change your password to what you want it to be. This feature allows you to check your account status; money we owe you, inventory still available & its’ original price, its’ expire date & sold inventory history.
  2. Consignors, Show us your ID Account Card to use your payable money as “store credit” for in-store purchases
  3. Consignors, Show us your ID Account Card to get paid.  Please have $10 in your account as payable.
  4. Payable money not picked up or used as store credit after 90 days of the last sold date is subject to forfeit.

8. CONSIGNMENT STORE DROP-OFF PROCEDURE

  1. Bring your items any day we are open.  Bring your ID Account Card We “like” items which sell well and can be priced reasonably.  Items must be in good condition, clean and in working order. Please insert fresh batteries as applicable. If you have large items, please contact us to assure we have room for them. Be sure to bring help to unload them & to pick up large items you have purchased.
    1. Consignment pickup and delivery is available at a reasonable charge.
  2. Consignments will mainly be Drop Off. We do not usually “hand select” while you wait or save No Thank You’s for you to pick up at a later time. During the actual inspection and sorting process, our trained staff will carefully consider which items meet our consignment guidelines. Those items will get tagged as consignment under your account #.  If there are items which fail our guidelines and are “sellable” they will be automatically donated to New Hope of Albemarle.
  3. You will “Check-In” your items at the Check-In Counter each time you bring Consignments. (We will show you how to do this).  You must ask a member of our staff to sign off on what you brought when you are finished with your Check-In steps & before you leave the Check-In Area.  They will assure everything you are leaving as “consideration for consignment” is documented.  You will receive a copy of your completed Check-In Slip.

9. What we accept!

  1. Adult Clothing & their accessories – for specific details about clothing acceptance please refer to our CLOTHING & THEIR ACCESSORIES-CRITERIA FOR CONSIGNMENT.  Request a copy at the store or read it on the website.
    1. We consider Clothing Accessories as anything you wear.
      1. Jewelry, hats, scarves, belts, ties, shoes, handbags, wallets, etc…
  2. Clothing must arrive to us “On hangers” and we only accept 25 per day.
  3. Home Goods = Home Décor & Household Supplies.
  4. Furniture-must be in very good condition- Please note, “vintage items of any type” are not good sellers.
    1. Best furniture sellers are dressers & recliners.
  5. Children’s Equipment & Nice Toys.
  6. Electronics-televisions, computers & smart phones (you must assure us they work 100%).
  7. Tools & Outdoor.
  8. Holiday - Accepting 8 weeks before the holiday. We stop accepting 4 weeks before the holiday.
  9. & more (just ask!).         
  10. PURCHASE OUTRIGHT - We consider for “select items(s)” & we purchase entire estates. You must establish an account.
  11. SECURITY - New Hope of Albemarle pledges to do their best to safeguard your consigned items. We are not responsible for damage or loss caused by handling, theft, fire, water, etc…

  • The store proceeds from our sold Consignments & donations are used towards our MISSION;
    • TO ASSIST THE HOMELESS POPULATION TO MOVE TO AFFORDABLE HOUSING WHILE TRANSITIONING THROUGH A COMPREHENSIVE PROGRAM TO BUILD SKILLS FOR SUSTAINABILITY.
